How do garment factories produce clothes?
Let’s witness the entire process of clothing production right now!
1.Selecting the material
The first step of clothing production is selecting the raw materials. It’s known that the basic material of a suit of clothes is cloth made from cotton, linen, or other materials, so it’s the most important thing for a suit of clothes to select the high-quality raw material for it.
2.Tests of the raw material
The selected cloth must be tested by a machine called ‘fabric inspection machine’, which will determine whether the cloth is suitable to be the raw material of the clothing or not – if not, the defective cloth will be returned.
3.Loosening the fabric
After being tested, the cloth must be loosened on a steam engine in order to make it as flat as possible, otherwise the size of each piece of cloth will deviate from the standard size after being cut. Normally a piece of cloth as the clothes raw material should be processed in this step for 24 hours, and the cloth made from some special materials 72 hours.
4.Cutting the fabric
The fabric will be cut with an automatic cutting machine after being loosened, and each piece of the cut cloth will be used for the clothing production.
5.Testing the cut fabric
Generally, there is a department testing the cut fabrics in every garment factory to test if they’re up to standard.

6.Processing the fabric into the semi-finished products
The following step is processing the semi-finished products – After the fabrics being ironed, the workers in garment factories start to embroider or sew beads onto the finished products according to the designs, but nowadays this step is done by automatic equipment in general.
7.Sewing the semi-finished products
Sewing a semi-finished product into a finished product is the most crucial step for clothing production. Because of the differences among various clothes, the sewing method and sewing machine for each kind of clothes might be obviously different.
8.Sewing the buttons
A suit must have buttonholes made before it is a finished product, so that the workers can sew the buttons on for it.
9.Cutting the thread ends off
After the steps above, the workers will cut the thread ends on each suit of clothes off to make its appearance look more beautiful.
10.Ironing the clothing
Ironing the finished products is the last step of clothing production, after which the products will be packaged and sent to the clothing company to sell.
